IN BETWEEN SEASONS
Timeless Pieces to Lift the Mood in Winter’s Final Stretch
I’m not sure if you’re the same, but every year around this time, I start to feel really low. We’re about two months into winter, even though it feels more like six. The novelty and cosy feeling have completely faded, nothing feels exciting anymore, and I’m in desperate need of new energy.
My skin looks dull, my hair feels lifeless, and with four more weeks of “official” winter ahead, I’m craving a sense of freshness and novelty more than ever.
While New York is still buried under deep, deep snow (as Queen Elsa would say ❄️), London is getting tiny glimpses of sunshine—usually after rain. Every. Single. Day. Honestly, I’d take snow over this any time, because at least you know the days that follow will bring big blue skies. Freezing, yes. But sunny. Always worth it.
Back in London, as the weather slowly starts to soften—at least for now—I’ve realised that the cure to my winter blues might lie in small transitional pieces and accessories. Items that work all year round, with sustainability and longevity in mind, yet instantly refresh a look.
This morning, while walking home after the school run, the air finally felt mild. I slowed down, sipped my coffee outside, and soaked up as many sun rays as possible while they lasted. I watched the flowers begin to bloom and enjoyed some people-watching as everyone strolled through the fields.
That’s when I noticed someone in an all-black outfit—black hat, black jeans—lifted effortlessly with a bright light-blue collared shirt and shiny leather loafers. It was a simple look, but it made such an impact. A perfect reminder that sometimes, it really is just one small detail that can transform an entire outfit—and even our mood.
With this in mind, I decided to dive deep into the online world, searching for pieces to add to my wishlist—little mood-lifters that could refresh my wardrobe and help me move through these last weeks of winter with renewed energy and optimism.
Because maybe the secret to surviving this in-between season isn’t a dramatic reset, but small, thoughtful changes. A splash of colour. A beautiful accessory. A reminder that spring is quietly on its way.

A BLUE BUTTONED DOWN SHIRT, OBVIOUSLY

As I said , seeing this girl walking through fields, looking effortlessly chic in her full black winter outfit layered with a blue shirt, was a reminder that it’s truly a wardrobe staple all year long.
ZEBRA PRINT

I feel anima print always always brings a lift to any outfit, but as much as I am a leopard print girl, I saw a woman the other day at the hair salon with a zebra print fur coat and was in love with her look, While I am not in mood to buy a coat anymore, I cam across those Khaite low heels and a few other zebra print pieces.
A NEW PAIR OF SUNGLASSES

Ive been wearing my large ski mask likke sunglasses from westward leaning for years, but I am suddenly craving something new for thenew ray of sun. Maybe I was inspired by Margot Robbie in Wuthering heights but really into those smaller frames at the moment.
A CRISP WHITE T

Weather it’s plain or with a print, sometimes a simple white t-shirt instantly gives a glow and refreshes the same jeans and coat outfit you’ve been wearing all winter. I always like them quite boxy and oversized, and not too thin.
NEW LINGERIE

Sometimes it’s not about what others see on the outside—putting on a new lingerie set always makes me feel more confident, and that energy definitely shines through. I especially love simple lace bralettes; they make me feel sexy without being over the top.
